If your windscreen is only chipped you might want to hold off on calling for a replacement...

It is possible to have minor damage repaired before it spreads. Doing this will save you money by preventing you from having to replace the whole windscreen. Chip repairs usually take less than 10 minutes and require no standing time or after care. Unfortunately cracks cannot be viably repaired and in such a case a replacement is recommended.

So your windscreen is beyond repair?

Your windscreen might not be as badly damaged as this one but even small cracks can be annoying when they're in your view, not to mention the safety and legal concerns that go with a broken windscreen. Replacing a windscreen typically does not take more than 1 hour but there is a standing time applicable after a new installation. Fitment and standing times vary depending on the type of vehicle but are only exceptionally long for big vehicles like trucks. In some cases (for some older models) there is no standing time necessary.

Smashed side window or vent?

Side windows and rear windows are usually made of tempered glass and do not crack like windscreens do. They are generally much harder to break than a windscreen but when they do, they break into millions of pieces. If your windows have film applied, it will hold most of the shards together in case of a breakage. Fitment times vary greatly and can take anything from 5 minutes to more than an hour depending on the type of vehicle. In some cases the window should remain closed for a few days following the installation.

Smashed rear window?

Like side windows, rear windows are also made of tempered glass. Replacing a rear window typically does not take more than 1 hour but (as in windscreen replacement) there is a standing time applicable after a new installation. In some cases (for some older models) there is no standing time necessary. It is in most cases also recommended that all the vehicles widows are to be kept closed when driving after the installation. This prevents wind pressure from pushing on the glass while the glue cures, which may cause leakages or a detachment.

Broken cab slider? ...or do you just want to replace your fixed glass with one?

Cab sliders usually have an aluminium frame with tempered glass panels of which 1 or 2 can slide open. They are an alternative to fixed rear windows for vehicles such as pick-up trucks. Whether you have a broken slider or fixed panel window that needs replacing or you just want to replace your fixed glass with a slider, installations are in most cases fairly quick and easy. As with rear window installations there is also a standing time applicable and it's recommended that all the vehicles widows are to be kept closed when driving after the installation.

Is the extreme heat getting to you?

Solar smash and grab safety film helps to protect you and your vehicle against the harmful rays coming from the sun. The film blocks out UV rays, protects your vehicle's interior and keeps the inside a lot cooler. In the event of a smash and grab attack, the film will keep the shattered glass in place. Not only does it help keep you safe but it also makes your ride look stylish in the process. Installation usually takes less than 1 hour after which the windows should remain closed for at least 48 hours.

Do you have a leaky windscreen?

Not many people experience this but there are few things as bad as having to drive in the rain only to find that there's water dripping from the top of your windscreen or seeping into your vehicle's carpets, not to mention the smell it will cause later on. Leakages can in some cases easily be repaired by applying extra sealant. In worse cases your windscreen (or rear screen) will have to be completely removed and refitted.

Is your home or office getting too much heat?

Applying solar film can drastically cool down any room by blocking the hot and harmful sun-rays from entering through your windows. This also has the added benefit of big savings on your electrical bill as it means that you will not have to use your air-conditioner as often or at all. Solar film application is in most cases fairly quick and works on all types of windows. There are different varieties to choose from to fit your needs, from a light tint up to very dark as well as reflective.
